About the role
The Vale of Glamorgan Council is seeking a motivated and organised Your Choice Officer to
support the operation and development of Your Choice within Social Services.
In this role, you will:
• Provide administrative and coordination support for the scheme.
• Maintain accurate records and spreadsheets, including provider information and financial
reconciliation.
• Act as a point of contact for care providers and internal colleagues, dealing with routine
enquiries and escalating complex issues where needed.
• Support the implementation of the Your Choice model by assisting providers and sharing
guidance and best practice.
• Liaise with care managers and social care professionals to support understanding and
consistent use of the scheme.
• Assist with meetings, communications, and monitoring activity.
• Support the promotion of Your Choice through information sharing and basic
communications.

• Has strong organisational and administrative skills
• Is confident in using IT systems and spreadsheets
• Experience of financial work
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Ability to use initiative
• Ability to undertake work in accordance with set standards
• Communicates clearly and professionally
• Can manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
• Works effectively as part of a team
• Is self-motivated and able to work efficiently without direct supervision, including when
hybrid working
• Experience of working in social care
• Is interested in person-centred approaches
• Willingness to undertake training
Experience in administration, customer service, local government or social care is desirable, but
full training will be provided
