About the Role
Medway Council is seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our Ofsted rated Good in all areas children's home Eden House located in the beautiful village of Upnor. Set within an acre of green space Eden House provides a stable and nurturing environment for up to five young people aged 11 to 17 with emotional and behavioural needs.
You will work alongside the Registered Manager to ensure the highest quality of care is provided and that the home meets all regulatory requirements. You will play a vital role in leading the team developing staff practice overseeing care planning and contributing to the smooth day to day running of the home.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager with service delivery team leadership and maintaining high standards of care
Deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager taking full responsibility for operations
Ensure compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations SCCIF and all relevant safeguarding and health and safety requirements
Lead on supervision rota management recruitment training and professional development of residential staff
Oversee and review care plans behaviour support strategies and risk assessments
Work in partnership with external agencies and promote Medway Council's values and goals
Foster a culture where children's voices are heard respected and used to shape their care
About You
We are looking for someone passionate resilient and experienced in residential care who can lead by example and motivate a team. You will need
NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent and a willingness to complete the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
A minimum of 3 years experience in a residential setting and proven leadership or supervisory experience
Experience supporting children with emotional behavioural and complex needs
Strong working knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations and safeguarding legislation
Excellent communication leadership and organisational skills
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
