Our client, a leading consultancy in the aviation infrastructure sector, is supporting a major airfield upgrade programme at a major UK airport. They are currently looking for a Project Engineer to join the team on a long-term contract basis. This role is ideal for someone ready to step into a design-coordination-focused position within a complex, safety-critical environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver vital civil engineering projects for airport operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the coordination and delivery of design outputs for airfield civil engineering projects, including runways, pavements, and related infrastructure
Support management of design interfaces across engineering disciplines and stakeholders
Help ensure designs meet quality, safety, and aviation regulatory standards
Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and technical documentation
Liaise with designers, contractors, and airport stakeholders to keep project aligned and on track
Support wider project management activities such as reporting, planning, and tracking design progress
Job Requirements:
Significant experience in civil engineering design, especially airfield, runway, pavements, highways, or large-scale infrastructure projects
Understanding of design processes, industry standards, and multidisciplinary coordination
Ability to work effectively within structured project environments with multiple stakeholders
Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Desirable Experience:
Experience in aviation or airport infrastructure projects
Familiarity with ICAO, CAA, or EASA standards for airfield design
Previous involvement in runway or taxiway design packages
