Positions: 2 | Band / Grade: C | Salary: £30,316 – £33,896 per annum plus 30% Shift Disturbance Allowance | Contract: Permanent | Pattern: Full Time, Shift Work | Leave: Starting at 30 days per annum, pro‑rated | Closing Date: 4th January 2026
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Fire Officer at UK Parliament you will play a frontline role in maintaining safety across historic and modern buildings. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include running fire evacuation drills, carrying out patrols and inspections, monitoring critical fire alarm systems from the Control Room, and mobilising quickly for incident response in partnership with the London Fire Brigade. You will also own inspection record keeping, support contractor compliance, manage permits, and deliver engaging fire safety training to parliamentary staff.

What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience in a Fire & Rescue Service or Fire Safety team.
* Experience working with diverse groups and upholding diversity, equality, and inclusion principles.
* Clear communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with all colleagues.
* Proven experience of identifying potential risks and developing creative, workable solutions to incidents.
* Experience with Microsoft software, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
