Associate / Solicitor – Local Authority Abuse – Birmingham – up to £50k + Excellent Benefits Package – Generous Bonus Scheme
The Role
Superb opportunity to join an award-winning leading international Legal 500 law firm that offers specialist quality legal advice to a broad range of Private, Public and Healthcare clients.
Due to the development and expansion of the firm’s Public Sector team, it is now seeking to appoint an experienced Associate / Solicitor to work alongside its existing Team dealing with a range of cases across all aspects of Local Authority and Public Sector Abuse cases.
The role will involve managing your own caseload of Defendant complex psychiatric injury social care claims including abuse and neglect. Matters will include failure to monitor, take into care, failure to remove, abuse in foster placement, failure to protect, negligent removal and also data breaches.
The ideal candidate will be 1-3 year PQE with Personal Injury experience, ideally with some social care experience. There is a steady flow of new instructions from private care providers and NHS Resolution and the firm is seeking a motivated, technically strong lawyer with ambition, who can develop relationships and provide an exceptional level of service to its clients.
The Candidate
* A qualified solicitor with 1-3 years PQE
* Personal Injury experience is essential
* Social care experience would be beneficial however training will be give if requires
* Experience of handling defendant litigated claims but candidates with claimant experience will also be considered
* Excellent knowledge of the CPR and litigation
* Ability to influence a broad range of people including key decision makers
* Excellent organisational skills
* Excellent time management skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Excellent IT skills
* Ability to work to strict deadlines and targets
* Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
* Flexible approach to work and a willingness to travel
