Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Personal Tutor to join our Guidance team. As a Personal Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students' academic progress, personal development and well-being throughout their time at College. You will provide guidance, monitor student attendance and progress and help students set and achieve their educational and career goals. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people as they prepare for higher education, apprenticeships, or employment.
Responsibilities
* Provide regular one-to-one and group tutorials to support students\' academic, personal and social development
* Monitor and track student attendance, progress and behaviour
* Support students in setting realistic academic and career goals and creating action plans
* Liaise with subject tutors, support service and parents/carers as appropriate
* Identify and refer students requiring additional support to relevant College services
* Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and wellbeing
* Maintain accurate records and reports in line with College policies
Qualifications
* A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their best
* Experience working with young people in an educational setting, preferably in a sixth form or education environment
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to motivate and inspire students
* Understanding of safeguarding and promoting student welfare
* Organised and able to manage caseloads effectively
* A positive, proactive and student-centred approach
* Relevant qualification in education, counselling, youth work or related fields are desirable
