Job overview
South Central Fleet Services Ltd is looking for a Fleet Parts Person to join our team at our workshop in Nursling. The role involves maintaining stock records and managing stock for ambulances and related vehicles, ensuring high vehicle availability. The position requires liaising with suppliers, managing inventory, and supporting digitalization efforts in the workshop.
The role offers an opportunity to work with a diverse range of vehicle parts, including electronic components, tail-lifts, and stretchers. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with the workshop operating 7 days a week on a rotational basis.
Main duties of the job
* Manage stock ordering and administrative tasks for ambulance and vehicle parts.
* Liaise with suppliers regarding orders, returns, and queries.
* Conduct stock analysis for cost savings and process improvements.
* Support the digitalization of workshop processes, including digital job cards and barcode records.
* Perform regular stock counts and suggest process improvements.
* Maintain records of vehicle maintenance and repairs.
* Follow health and safety and security procedures.
* Participate in training related to vehicle maintenance and repair.
* Contribute to income generation and cost-saving initiatives.
Working for our organisation
South Central Fleet Services Ltd is a subsidiary of South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, responsible for vehicle delivery and maintenance.
