The firm is currently expanding its regional presence, making this a high-visibility role for a manager eager to build and lead a high-performing team.
Responsibilities
* Act as the primary point of contact for a varied client portfolio, providing strategic guidance and high-level commercial advice.
* Lead the delivery of full-service accounting solutions, ensuring all statutory obligations and technical standards are met.
* Review complex management accounts and statutory financial statements for larger, audit‑exempt, and audited entities.
* Oversee intricate VAT returns, including cross-border transactions, partial exemption calculations, and postponed VAT accounting.
* Manage cross‑departmental relationships with Audit, Tax, and Specialist Advisory teams to ensure a seamless client experience.
* Identify and execute opportunities for service expansion and cross‑selling across the wider firm network.
* Take overall accountability for the performance and output of the Cardiff Business Services team.
* Recruit, mentor, and develop a team of trainees and seniors, fostering a culture of continuous learning and feedback.
* Implement and streamline cloud‑based accounting procedures using Xero and Sage to drive efficiency.
* Manage relationships with overseas parent companies and their UK-based subsidiaries.
* Liaise directly with HMRC on complex technical queries and compliance matters.
* Lead by example, upholding the firm’s values of integrity, collaboration, and striving for excellence.
