About the Role
Energetik is seeking an experienced and technically credible Head of Heat Network Development to lead early‑stage development, technical strategy, and concept design for our expanding heat network portfolio. This senior role collaborates closely with business development, commercial, and delivery teams to shape technically robust, commercially viable solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Heat Network Development & Design:
• Lead technical development of new connections and extensions
• Produce RIBA Stage 2 designs and feasibility layouts
• Develop and review RIBA Stage 2–3 heat substation designs
• Assess optimal pipework routes and constraints
• Support long‑term strategic planning
Developer Engagement & Technical Assurance:
• Act as primary technical contact for developers
• Provide clear technical requirements and guidance
• Review and assure third‑party designs
• Participate in workshops and design reviews
Commercial & Business Development Support:
• Support propositions with technical insight
• Input into costs, financial models, and investment cases
• Identify technical risks and opportunities
• Support bids and connection agreements
Standards, Strategy & Governance:
• Serve as technical authority for development‑stage activity
• Ensure compliance with UK standards (CP1, CIBSE, DESNZ)
• Improve internal standards and processes
Who We’re Looking For
Essential:
• Extensive district heating/heat network design experience
• Strong early‑stage design and routing expertise
• Experience with developers and local authorities
• Ability to review and approve designs
• Strong commercial awareness
Desirable:
• Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it)
• Experience supporting commercial decisions
• Knowledge of low‑carbon heat sources and decarbonization
• Experience coordinating consultants
Qualifications:
• Degree in Mechanical/Building Services/Energy Engineering
• Or equivalent technical experience
