Planner – Residential Housing Developer

Due to ongoing expansion, they are looking to appoint a Planner to join their technical function.
The Opportunity

This is a key position within the business, supporting the progression of residential schemes from early-stage acquisition through to site delivery. You’ll take ownership of the planning process across a number of developments, ensuring applications are managed efficiently and approvals are secured in line with programme requirements.

You’ll be working closely with internal departments and external partners, playing a vital role in driving projects forward and overcoming planning challenges.
*
This role would suit someone who is organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple live sites within a fast-moving environment.
Key Duties
*
Oversee planning activities across a portfolio of residential developments from pre-application through to approval
*
Prepare and submit planning applications, including amendments and reserved matters
*
Engage with local authorities, consultants, architects and other stakeholders to progress applications
*
Manage planning conditions, S106 agreements and discharge requirements
*
Provide planning guidance to internal teams including land, technical, commercial and construction
*
Attend project meetings, design reviews and planning discussions
*
Identify potential risks within the planning process and implement solutions
*
Assist in developing planning strategies, timelines and internal reporting
*
Maintain accurate records and documentation within company systems
*
Stay informed on planning policy updates and legislative changes
About You
*
Previous experience in a planning role within housing or residential development, or council background
*
Solid understanding of UK planning policy and procedures
*
Experience handling planning applications across multiple sites
*
Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
*
Well organised, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines
*
A solutions-driven mindset with strong attention to detail
*
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and relevant planning systems
