We are working with a large and supportive secondary school in the Chadderton area of Oldham who are looking to appoint a full-time Pastoral or Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant. This is a key role within the school community, focused on supporting students’ wellbeing, behaviour, and engagement throughout the school day.
The ideal candidate will be confident working with young people, calm under pressure, and passionate about helping students overcome social, emotional, and behavioural barriers both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Providing day-to-day pastoral and behavioural support
Building positive and trusted relationships with students
Supporting behaviour interventions and restorative conversations
Working closely with pastoral leads, safeguarding teams, and teaching staff
Encouraging positive choices and promoting respectful behaviour
Assisting pupils with social, emotional, or behavioural challenges

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
