Randstad are recruiting for a Freelance Site Supervisor / Foreman to work on a rail upgrade in Suffolk.
The successful candidate must have Rail experience as a site Supervsior or General Foreman.
Duties will include:

On-Site Management & Coordination
o Supervise, coordinate, and delegate tasks to the on-site labour and subcontractors.
o Manage daily and weekly work schedules to meet project deadlines.
o Lead daily briefings (e.g., toolbox talks) and site inductions for new personnel.
o Resolve on-site issues and conflicts promptly to maintain workflow.
Health & Safety
o Enforce all health and safety regulations and ensure a safe working environment.
o Conduct regular site safety inspections and risk assessments.
o Ensure all personnel wear the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
o Report and document any accidents, incidents, or near misses immediately.
Quality Control & Planning
o Monitor workmanship to ensure it meets quality standards and project requirements.
o Identify and rectify any defects in the work.
o Assist in short-term planning to overcome challenges and keep the project on schedule.
Resource & Materials Management
o Oversee the receipt, inspection, and proper storage of materials and equipment.
o Monitor resource usage to prevent waste and ensure efficiency.
o Manage the correct use and maintenance of plant, tools, and equipment.
Communication & Reporting
o Act as the primary on-site point of contact for the workforce and subcontractors.
o Report progress, delays, and issues directly to the Project Manager or Site Manager.
o Maintain accurate site records, including a daily diary, timesheets, and delivery dockets.
o Liaise with inspectors from local authorities or regulatory bodies as required.
