What you’ll be responsible for
Leading the proactive drive across Welsh Water to seek opportunities to innovate business processes and SAP solutions, enabling the delivery of the Welsh Water Business Plan for your area of expertise. Ensure investments in the SAP platform are cost-effective and provide long-term benefits.
Increase the speed of innovation and enhancement within SAP solutions under your expertise.
Identify problems and deliver solutions through root cause analysis, providing innovative and swift system solutions.
Assess emerging SAP technologies and product roadmaps, aligning them with business needs and the Welsh Water Business Plan to develop a clear SAP solutions roadmap.
Collaborate with stakeholders within Welsh Water and externally to explore the potential of the latest SAP technologies (HANA, Mobile, Cloud, etc.) to improve performance.
Engage with business and ITS stakeholders, including Senior Managers, to understand processes, pain points, and drivers, ensuring SAP solutions align with business needs.
Work with Process Owners and Business Analysts to define business process requirements and translate them into functional specifications for SAP development partners.
Ensure partner solutions adhere to Welsh Water and SAP standards, including SAP processes, configuration, and customization.
Coordinate with Support teams to maintain SAP system stability and availability, providing best practice guidance.
Work with other teams to implement best practices that reduce TCO for SAP solutions, such as testing, data governance, and master data management.

About you
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
* Experience implementing and supporting SAP solutions, with expertise in SAP Source to Pay modules, Ariba, and SAP Materials Management (Logistics/MRP), including their integration with other SAP modules.
* Recognized SAP certification or equivalent experience.
* Proven ability to deliver benefits by combining SAP technical skills with business and commercial understanding.
* High-level SAP solution knowledge and fact-finding skills to assess current and future SAP landscapes and recommend roadmaps.
* Strong root cause analysis, problem-solving, and impact assessment skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and externally.
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Good to know
This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence in Newport 3 days a week.
