Job Description
We are seeking a skilled, qualified social worker with passion and drive to ensure children and young people in Darlington, for whom we care and provide foster placements, achieve the best outcomes and receive high-quality services. The role offers varied and interesting work, including supporting foster carers, recruitment, assessments, and supervision.
You will develop potential carers' understanding of fostering through training and regular supervision. Support is provided via the ASYE programme for newly qualified social workers, with ongoing professional development supported by the leadership team and workforce development colleagues.
The role involves managing a caseload of foster and connected carers, providing monthly supervision, completing reviews, participating in duty rotas, and contributing to support plans and permanence planning. We use Liquid Logic for record-keeping and operate a blended working approach with face-to-face and virtual meetings. The role requires meeting statutory timescales and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Our recent Ofsted inspection graded us as 'good' overall, with the experience and progress of children in care rated as 'outstanding'. The service is highly responsive, well-supported, and committed to high standards of care and support.
