How you’ll power our business as a Fleet Maintenance Controller
As a Fleet Maintenance Controller, you will take ownership for seeing through mechanical repairs to our vehicle assets at the best balance of cost and time off the road. You will offer expert advice on maintenance requirements and assist and advise internal stakeholder on investigations and interpretations as required. Here at Flogas, we may have a fossil fuels background, but we’re working towards delivering 100% renewable energy to our customers by 2040. We’re already supporting our customers to reduce their carbon emissions, by helping them make the switch from oil to gas. We’re also developing our offering for technologies such as heat pumps and solar panels, beginning to help our customers reduce their energy consumption and evolving new bio-fuels and renewable gases. Here’s what you’ll be doing
* Monitor and report on daily VOR. Liaise with garages, internal stakeholders, tanker maintenance manager and repair agents to optimise vehicle downtime.
* Manage the workflow through the tran man vehicle management system – reviewing the provisional repair spend and approving as appropriate.
* Review and negotiate/amend quoted repair prices as appropriate with garages and manufacturers.
* Work with our repair agents to ensure the best value is achieved for Flogas whilst ensuring our critical delivery assets are returned to use in a timely manner.
* Accountable for identifying areas where our preventative maintenance regime can be improved for the benefit of Flogas Britain.
* Work closely cross functionally to deliver the vehicles required by the business on the road and safe to operate.
What we’ll need from you
* Organisation and Attention to Detail
* Mechanical knowledge of HGV’s relating to their build, maintenance and operation – essential
* Commercial and Business Acumen
* Confidence in managing suppliers and supplier national account managers
* Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising with suppliers on behalf of FloGas
* Experience of Hazardous Goods desirable but not essential
