We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Project Coordinator (Rail / Engineering) to support site-based rail maintenance, refurbishment, and engineering projects. This role focuses on project coordination, reporting, quality control, and stakeholder communication in a fast‑paced environment.
As a Project Coordinator (Rail / Engineering) you will provide day‑to‑day operational coordination, ensuring accurate project tracking, production planning, and compliance with quality and safety standards. You will manage project data, support workflow efficiency, and utilise digital reporting tools including spreadsheets and forms.
The Project Coordinator (Rail / Engineering) will act as a key point of contact for client liaison, resolving on‑site queries and supporting continuous improvement across operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational, administrative, and problem‑solving skills within rail or engineering sectors.
Duties
* Project Coordination and Tracking: Maintain daily trackers to ensure real‑time visibility of project progress.
* Data Entry and Reporting: Manage project data using spreadsheets, digital forms, and reporting systems.
* Timesheet Management: Accurately track and log staff hours per unit, ensuring timely submission.
* Client Liaison and Communication: Handle client queries and escalations, providing effective on‑site solutions.
* Meeting Coordination: Attend and contribute to weekly project meetings, providing updates on progress.
* Quality Control and Inspection: Conduct film thickness testing and quality checks in line with engineering standards.
* Compliance and Documentation: Maintain accurate records including paint batch traceability and audit data.
* Stock Control and Inventory Management: Monitor paint, materials, and sundries, coordinating replenishment.
* Equipment and Asset Checks: Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and operational.
* Team Support and Coordination: Support site teams, ensuring adherence to processes, safety, and project standards.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
* Previous experience in project coordination, operations, or administration within rail, engineering, or industrial environments.
* Strong organisational and administrative skills with experience in data management, reporting, and record keeping.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with client‑facing experience.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, and digital reporting systems.
* Ability to work independently with strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capability.
* Knowledge of health and safety practices within a site‑based or engineering environment.
Desirable
* Experience with coating inspection, film thickness testing, or paint systems.
* Familiarity with quality assurance and compliance standards within engineering or rail maintenance.
* Experience using Zoho or similar CRM or digital reporting systems.
* Understanding of rail industry operations, maintenance, or refurbishment projects.
* Experience supporting production planning or resource coordination.
