Purpose of the role
This role is responsible for leading the month-end and year-end financial reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of consolidated management accounts and statutory financial statements. The position plays a key role in budget preparation, financial analysis, and compliance, while supporting broader business operations through insightful financial insights and collaboration across departments. The role also contributes to the management of insurance, company car policy matters, and ICT system improvements, ensuring robust financial controls and strategic support across the Group.
The day to day
* To adhere to the Camira Code of Conduct and comply with all relevant quality, environmental, health & safety, data protection, and corporate legislative requirements
* Management of the month-end financial reporting process to ensure management accounts are produced in a timely manner meeting all financial reporting deadlines.
* Production of Group consolidated financial statements including the detailed monthly management accounts, illustrating relevant and incisive commentary on the financial performance against budget and forecast highlighting key operational drivers of performance and variances to budget or forecast.
* Manage the preparation and review of monthly reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts, to ensure all accounts are accurately reconciled.
* Support the building and submission of annual budgets, including ad-hoc forecasts. Maintain an organised approach throughout remaining to the strict deadlines.
* Assist in the annual audit process, providing information to the Company's auditors and tax advisors. Compilation of internal and Statutory Year-end Financial Statements to meet reporting timeframes.
* Ensure the compliance and filing of Statutory Financial Statements to Companies House and corporate tax returns to HMRC, by working with external providers of legal, accounting, audit and other professional advice.
* Produce reliable and insightful analysis surrounding SG&A costs. Work with other member of finance and with Department Heads to understand spend, variances to budget and accurately forecast cost for the remainder of the year.
* Manage the monthly intercompany reconciliations across the group.
* Support any ICT system implementation, being a key member in the process. Be at the forefront of developments both ICT based and otherwise.
* Assist the Group Financial Controller with Group-wide Insurance matters across all regions. To assess and mitigate commercial and insurance risks and to be the key point of contact with the brokers.
* Assistance with Group Company Car Policy matters.
Other Considerations
* Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA), ideally first-time passes from a top 10 firm
* Proven experience in a similar finance leadership role
* Strong technical accounting and FP&A skills
* Experience producing statutory accounts
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, Sage X3, and Caseware
* Strong project management skills in fast-paced, dynamic environments
* Experience developing financial standards and procedures
* Manufacturing industry experience (desirable)
