About the Role
We are currently seeking a SEND Emotional Support Facilitator to join our Foundation Learning and Additional Learning Support department at The Bedford College Group.
Responsibilities
* Manage the Haven and a safe environment to support SEND learners developing social confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.
* Plan and deliver ELSA‑informed 1:1 and group interventions to support emotional literacy, resilience, regulation and personal development.
* Facilitate activities that develop communication, friendships and conflict resolution skills, promoting meaningful peer interaction.
* Organise inclusive in‑college activities and termly off‑site social events to support independence, confidence and community participation.
* Collaborate with staff, families and external agencies, maintain accurate records, evaluate impact and uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and CPD standards.
Qualifications & Experience
* Level 3 qualification with GCSE English and Maths; ELSA qualification or willingness to achieve; strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and FE provision.
* Experience supporting young people with SEND in FE or similar settings, delivering 1:1 emotional, social and behavioural support.
* Strong communication skills across all channels, ability to produce high‑quality reports and maintain confidentiality.
* Highly organised with strong IT and administrative skills, priority setting, deadline management and collaboration with curriculum and support teams.
