We have an exciting opportunity for a Chief Electrician to join our fleet.
As a Chief Electrician onboard one of our vessels, you play a significant role within our technical team. Leading the team onboard, you will oversee the maintenance of all the electrical equipment through the ship and the engine room. You will be responsible for always ensuring that the activities are carried out in an efficient, safe and secure manner making sure that the work is completed to a high standard.
You will act as a role model, be a leader for the future, an inclusive team player who is able to coach and support your team.
Job description
* Carry out maintenance and inspection routines on ship electrical fittings
* Repair and maintenance of all electrical equipment on board
* Responsible for directing work and safety measures in connection with work on or near low voltage facilities.
* Assist service personnel from shoreside in cooperation with the chief engineer, set up order of electrical equipment and supplies
* Collaborate with engineers and fitters in necessary tasks.
* Follow up on the maintenance programme, including electric motors, ship board systems, arbitration
* Keeping order and maintaining tidiness in electrical workshops and electric stores
* Informs the nearest manager about system deviations, so that this can be further processed by the responsible party
* Responsible for electrical cadets
* Electrics are the ship's contact with the IT department ashore and shall, with the support of land, ensure that systems work and how they are to be used.
* Should know the ship's technical IT infrastructure and how the helpdesk/service desk can help in case of deviation.
* Know about all computer equipment on board and where it fits into the overall picture of the ships operations
* Know which programs are on board and who has responsibility.
* The electrician is required to follow the routines, instructions and procedures prepared for this position.
Qualification
* At least 5 years experience of an Electrician onboard passenger vessels
* Ship ETO/ Electrician certificate.
* STCW Advanced Safety Course (IMO80)
* Engine Room Resource Management
* Crisis and passenger handling course
* Valid health certificate for seafarers
* High voltage electrical course
* Seamans book
* Experience of leading teams and managing individuals
