This is a term-time post; the salary will be pro-rata'd to the hours worked.
West Dunbartonshire Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Early Learning Childcare Officer into our Levenvale Primary School Early Learning and Childcare Centre.
Staff will work contracted hours to meet the needs of the service. The main duties of the post are: to contribute to providing a safe, caring, and stimulating nursery environment for all children; to contribute to and implement a relevant curriculum in line with national and local guidance; to plan, record, implement, and evaluate suitable programmes of activities; to maintain and record children's assessment progress; and to promote parental participation.
It is essential you have experience working with pre-five children in a relevant setting and have knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence (early level) and pre-birth to three-year-old guidance. You should be flexible in your approach and able to adapt to change.
Candidates must hold the NNEB (or modular equivalent), HNC in Childhood Practice, SVQ2 in Social Services (Children and Young People), or SVQ3 in Social Services (Children and Young People). Successful candidates, if not already registered with SSSC as practitioners, will be required to register within 3 months of appointment.

Requirements
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007, and membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details can be found here. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer.
Responsibilities
