Summary of the role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Mitsubishi Chemical, you will take on responsibilities and challenges from day one. You will join global projects to provide specialist guidance and support, as well as UK projects to ensure targets, project excellence procedures, and engineering/SHE standards are met. You will become a valued member of a goal-oriented team, including relevant Asset Integrity panels and auditing teams.
Day-to-Day Activities
* Be the Mitsubishi Chemical subject matter expert for electrical engineering on strategic projects based in the UK and overseas.
* Take on responsibilities and operations during front-end loading (FEL) and EPC within strategic projects.
* Provide specialist electrical engineering support to global manufacturing sites for medium- to long-term work, emergency, and short-term needs. Guide and coach developing electrical engineers.
* Recommend best practices for electrical maintenance, acting as a technical authority in support of global manufacturing operations.
* Ensure strategic projects comply with company SHE standards. Lead the appraisal and appointment of engineering design contractors as Design Authorities following SHE Standards.
* Lead or participate in Asset Integrity Procedure (AIP) and project audits.
* Expand your network by liaising with external and internal experts, utilizing peer review activities where appropriate.
What we are Looking for
* A highly motivated candidate with a desire to be innovative.
* The ability to adapt to dynamic situations.
* Knowledge of Process Industry Practices (PIPs) and US PE requirements is an advantage.
* Experience with design, specification, inspection, and testing of HV electrical distribution systems or electrical machines for industrial facilities, either as EPC Contractor or OEM.
* A team player with a strong work ethic capable of liaising effectively with various teams.
* Willingness to undertake significant travel, including national and extended international placements.
Your Profile
* A degree in electrical engineering (minimum BEng/BSc); MEng/MSc preferred.
* Extensive work experience post-graduation, especially in Chemical, Petrochemical, or Oil and Gas industries.
* Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
* Experience with on-site industrial power generation (e.g., CHP plants).
* Proficiency with software such as SPEL, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, AMTECH, Navisworks, AutoCAD.
