This is an exciting internal secondment opportunity for an internal pharmacy technician to oversee operational services within pharmacy. This will include oversight of dispensary and stores services at The James Cook University Hospital (JCUH), pharmacy procurement, and pharmacy systems. The postholder will contribute to operational and strategic decisions made in the senior management team, as well as demonstrating high quality leadership and staff management within their areas of responsibility. This secondment will offer the postholder opportunities to strengthen leadership and management skills, gain experience with business and finance aspects of pharmacy, develop project management skills and strengthen knowledge and skills in pharmacy systems, data and informatics.
Main duties of the job
1. To oversee operational pharmacy services at The James Cook University Hospital (JCUH), ensuring outstanding service delivery across South Tees Hospitals
2. Oversee all aspects of Dispensing services at JCUH, supporting the dispensary manager and deputy dispensary manager in maintaining and enhancing dispensary practice
3. Oversee all aspects of Stores services at JCUH, supporting the stores manager in maintaining and enhancing pharmacy stores services
4. Provide leadership and support to the pharmacy procurement team to ensure efficient ordering and procurement processes, and optimised drug expenditure within pharmacy
5. Contribute to maintaining and developing medical gas ordering and supply processes within the organisation
6. Support pharmacy systems manager. Analyse pharmacy systems data to identify service optimisation, and implement actions accordingly.
7. Contribute to business development within pharmacy, evaluate finances and expenditure, collate data and evidence to support business case development.
8. Oversee incidents and complaints in areas of responsibility and implement relevant actions as per trust policy and departmental standards.
9. Contribute to maintenance and development of effective policy and governance within the pharmacy department
10. Act as a role model and exceptional staff manager for pharmacy staff
11. Demonstrate exceptional professional leadership across the department, and be an active member of the senior pharmacy leadership team
