A leading construction and fit-out business is looking to appoint an experienced Technical Services Manager to take ownership of MEP strategy and delivery across high-profile commercial projects. This is a key leadership role focused on ensuring mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) solutions are technically robust, commercially viable and successfully delivered from pre-construction through to handover and post-completion support. The successful candidate will act as the technical authority for building services throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with project teams, consultants and supply chain partners to drive quality, coordination and risk management

Life coverThe Role:
You will lead and manage the technical services strategy across multiple project stages, ensuring seamless transition from bid to delivery and operational handover.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the development and coordination of MEP design solutions
Reviewing technical submissions, calculations and equipment selections
Leading validation of existing building services, surveys and inspections
Ensuring MEP designs align with programme, cost and architectural intent
Acting as the internal technical lead for all MEP-related matters
Supporting project delivery teams with technical guidance and issue resolution
Monitoring quality and compliance through inspections and audits
Leading commissioning, witnessing and training activities (CW&T)
Overseeing O&M documentation and handover processes
Supporting clients during early occupation and aftercare phases
Identifying and mitigating technical and delivery risks proactivelyThe Ideal Candidate:
Strong understanding of MEP systems and performance-based design
Experience working on commercial fit-outs
Experience managing technical services through all project stages
Ability to coordinate effectively with design, commercial and delivery teams
Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify technical information
Confidence challenging and managing specialist subcontractors and consultants
Strong problem-solving and risk management capabilities
Experience overseeing commissioning and handover processes
