Marine & Helicopter Coordination is a key support function within the Offshore Operations & Logistics department of Construction, enabling safe offshore operations, transit, access to the OWF, assets within the OWF, and emergency response during OWF construction.
The role includes day and night shifts, weekend work, and scope for additional ad-hoc shifts during the main contract period, as well as before and after this period.
Key Tasks:
* Emergency response coordination, acting as the front-line person responsible for response coordination and liaising with project staff and external agencies.
* Vessel and helicopter traffic control according to agreed protocols, procedures, and processes.
* People, vessel, and communications tracking.
* Manage WTG access restrictions.
* Optimize vessel allocations and adapt to unforeseen changes to daily plans or schedules.
* Operate offshore management systems, ensuring personnel certifications and asset statuses are up to date.
* Liaise with local stakeholders as required.
* Provide weather forecasts and observations, interpreting data to advise Project and Vessel Masters.
* Manage relationships with weather data providers to resolve issues promptly.
Requirements:
* Local applicants preferred, within approximately 2 hours of Grimsby.
* Over 2 years of experience in Marine Coordination.
* Competent in using the Supplier Database for Offshore Operations.
* Proficient in radio communications.
* Familiar with maritime certification standards.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team, proactive, capable of working under pressure, and well-engaged with the organization.
* Experience in offshore emergency response.
* Personnel tracking to monitor offshore personnel whereabouts at all times.
* Marine traffic control, managing access to the OWF based on custody, timing, and work scope.
* Airspace coordination for safe flight operations to, from, and within the OWF.
* Monitoring weather and marine operations on the OWF.
* Emergency response planning and execution.
* Statutory reporting related to pollution, lighting, drifting buoys, and vessel infringements.
Work schedule: 12 hours per day, 1 week on/1 week off, with flexibility for vacation and sickness cover, potentially extending rotations up to 14–21 days. Exact shift patterns will be confirmed at the interview, with possible extensions based on workload.
