We’re looking for a confident and fast-paced Digital Programming Producer to join a globally recognised news organisation on a maternity cover contract until March 2027.
This role sits within a high-performing digital newsroom, playing a key part in how news is curated, presented, and delivered to millions of users across core platforms. If you thrive in a breaking news environment, have strong editorial judgement, and enjoy shaping homepage content in real time, this could be a great fit.
You’ll support the editorial team by:
* Curating and managing two key homepage platforms
* Editing and positioning content including video, articles, headlines, and alerts
* Reacting quickly to breaking news and updating content in real time
* Writing and sending alerts as stories develop
* Collaborating with writers, editors, and international teams
* Managing early morning handovers from US teams and aligning on editorial priorities
* Applying audience-focused thinking and day-part logic across US and European audiences
What We’re Looking For:
* 2+ years’ experience in a digital newsroom environment
* Strong homepage editing experience (essential)
* Excellent editorial judgement and ability to make fast decisions
* Strong writing skills with the ability to work quickly under pressure
* Experience working with writers, editors, and digital content teams
* Familiarity with digital content formats (video, articles, live updates)
* Highly organised, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
