Background
As a Building Services Manager, you will join a multidisciplinary contractor design team working on a variety of building and civil engineering projects from £0.1m to over £30m. Projects include education, retail, commercial, industrial, medical, research facilities, and residential developments. You will support design, commissioning, site checks, verification, and validation.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess tender drawings and specifications for compliance with regulations and standards.
* Evaluate pre-contract quotes and technical submissions, reporting on risks and opportunities.
* Assist in-house design team and support construction teams.
* Supervise subcontractor activities during construction.
* Coordinate commissioning and project handovers.
* Review building performance assessments and advise teams.
* Assess subcontractor design information for compliance and buildability.
* Manage record drawings, O&M information, and changes.
* Evaluate energy performance assessments and certifications.
* Mentor junior staff and prepare technical reports.
* Contribute to tender submissions and bids.
* Attend client meetings and represent the company.
* Perform technical inspections and testing.
* Support company initiatives.
Key Skills & Knowledge

* CIBSE and guidance
* BSRIA guidance
* British and European Standards
* Knowledge of TM52, TM54, TM59, TM65 is advantageous
Experience
* Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
* ACIBSE, MIET, or similar qualification
* Minimum 10 years of experience
We seek M&E designers, coordinators, project managers, and others with relevant experience in multidisciplinary teams. Experience in both Mechanical and Electrical disciplines is preferred. The role requires collaboration, team leadership, client relationship management, and mentoring skills.
