An opportunity has arisen within ICT Operations to join the Desktop Support team. As an ICT Desktop Support Officer, you will be part of a hardworking, busy team supporting all departments across the council. You will help to provide a high-quality Desktop Support service, ensuring all requests, incidents, and projects are captured and progressed swiftly to deliver robust, reliable, and cost-effective ICT solutions that meet customer requirements and adhere to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Your work will be varied, but the essential skills and experience required for the role include, but are not limited to:

* Experience providing 2nd line ICT support using service management tools
* Providing high-quality, customer-focused support services
* Skilled in Windows-based PCs, laptops, tablets, thin clients, Apple, and Android mobile devices
* Knowledge of enterprise desktop software such as Microsoft Office and Teams
* Management of desktop peripherals, device imaging, and MFDs

Practical hands-on experience with desktop hardware and software, a systematic and logical approach to problem-solving, and a willingness to learn enterprise systems to provide excellent Desktop Support services are essential.

This is a challenging yet highly rewarding role suited for a motivated, committed, and versatile individual. You will be experienced in managing multiple projects while fulfilling customer requests and resolving incidents.

As a disciplined and analytical problem solver, you will demonstrate a proactive approach, the ability to prioritize your workload, take ownership, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A career-graded position starting at Grade 6 may be considered, which offers the opportunity to study for and pass a BSc (Hons) in a relevant Computing subject and gain necessary experience, with potential progression to Grade 7 and ultimately to the full Grade 8 ICT Desktop Support Officer role.
