The Strategic Partnership Manager will lead the partnership development strategy for the Continence Care business unit, including Amcare, touching upon Acute, Post-Acute, and Community channels to position Convatec as a preferred supplier in each. You'll play a pivotal role in aligning our business strategy with the evolving HSE / NHS landscape and the DHSC MedTech Strategy, developing robust and sustainable commercial partnerships with 3rd parties and NHS payers or providers, including NHSE ICBs and within DHSC, Wholesalers and DACS (Dispensing Appliance Contractors).
This is a field-based role with a company car and approximately 70% customer facing. We are recruiting for two territories.
Territories: North UKI & South UK
ABOUT THE ROLE:
1. Be a key partner for sales, marketing and clinical teams to enable definition, prioritization, and implementation of long-term market access solutions and related market development roadmaps to achieve revenue and market share growth.
2. Identify new market segments, channels to market, and business opportunities. Assess competitive landscape, market segment growth potential and co-lead the annual market development strategy in conjunction with the UKI Continence Care Leadership Team.
3. Cultivate and manage strategic relationships, fostering collaboration and growth with, NHSSC, Wholesalers and competitor DACS.
4. Develop and execute on value-based partnership proposals to challenge, drive and accelerate Convatec and Amcare portfolio and service adoption through 3rd parties, ICB’s, PCN’s, Acute and Community Care channels.
5. Collaborate with strategic development teams across businesses to identify strategic partnership opportunities and complete strategic alliance plans that significantly improves Convatec’s UKI market position in Continence Care.
6. Proactively contribute to the UKI Continence Care Leadership team via Monthly reporting to help feed back insights from the External Environment and shape the future commercial strategy and activities.
7. Collaborate with Cross Functional Market Access Teams / personnel to identify impactful projects for business development and develop compelling and transformative business cases that capitalise on opportunities to drive market penetration, presenting these to local and global leadership teams as required.
8. Develop a suite of robust KPI’s which measure contract impact and effectiveness, along with ROI tracking via monthly reporting.
9. Lead service redesign and pathway development initiatives, utilising Business Cases for effective change and collaboration with National Strategic Partnerships Lead and/or Regional Continence Nurse specialists where applicable.
10. Engage with and be the primary Continence BU owner of wider system stakeholder relationships such as with the NHS Supply Chain, Wholesalers & DACs to enhance Convatec and Amcare’s market presence through awareness and engagement.
11. Ensure all patient pathways / standards of care have been reviewed and collaborate with regional Continence Nurse Specialist to maximise market access potential across ICB.
12. Bring your existing, well‑established ICB and ICS relationships into the role to immediately position Convatec as the partner of choice, while continuing to broaden engagement with new NHS stakeholders to drive long‑term sustainable development.
13. Leverage ICB, provider and payer partnerships to shape formulary strategy and advance ICB projects, providing strategic direction by defining objectives, aligning stakeholders, and sustaining project momentum.
ABOUT YOU:
14. Bachelor’s degree in science or commercial related program
15. 5-8 years experience in MedTech or pharmaceutical industry, preferably within or allied to Continence Care and in a business development, partnerships, or market access role
16. 5+ years experience in market access / government affairs and public policy, preferably within or allied to Continence Care
17. Strong understanding of NHS landscape policy
18. Experience working with NHS bodies in a payer environment.
19. Strong business acumen, strategic thinking and understanding of sales and marketing business practices.
20. Good financial modelling and forecasting skills.
21. Evidence of developing compelling business cases and methodologies for assessing ROI
22. Ability to simultaneously manage multiple priorities with a high degree of autonomy.
23. Excellent negotiation and project management skills
24. Ability to analyse and interpret data for business cases.
25. Proven ability to lead indirect teams through competing business priorities/deadlines.
26. Strong written and verbal communication
27. Strong interpersonal, inclusive leadership and collaboration skills
28. Comfortable working in a matrix environment
29. Demonstrates self-awareness and willingness to learn through stretch opportunities as well as adapts to coaching, actively pursuing growth in development areas
