Starting salary - £28,133 (£46,889 FTE) rising to £29,614 (£49,356 FTE) per annum plus agile working and cash for car allowance and an attractive benefits package

You will be based remotely (at home) with the ability to cover the South Central region.
You will be required to reside in the South Central region. The ability to drive and a valid driving licence are essential for this role.
Job summary
NAHT is looking for an experienced trade union organiser who is able to help drive our organising and campaigns priorities in England helping to strengthen our collective voice in line with Unions national strategic aims.
Reporting to the Regional Head this role will support the delivery of NAHT’s organising and campaigns strategy ensuring the strategic direction of NAHT is successfully implemented in the branches and regions within the South Central region.
You will support the digital organising transformation strategy and work with various teams across the association to support the recruitment and retention of members with the aim of developing and building local branches. Furthermore, you’ll be responsible for supporting the delivery of local and national campaigns.
A key part of this role involves undertaking casework in line with NAHT’s representation guide, ensuring members receive accurate, timely and effective support. In addition, you will represent the union at JNCC’s and contribute to local bargaining to promote and protect members’ interests.
Person specification
We are looking for a dynamic individual with demonstrable experience of working within the trade union organising model, aimed at revitalising, supporting and developing branches.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate their ability to work within the structures of a national union. Experience of campaigning and developing successful recruitment strategies together with excellent communication skills, oral and written with the ability to present confidently and establish credibility are all essential.
The ability to drive and a valid driving licence are essential for this role. The suitable candidate for this role must be able to travel and stay overnight on occasion to attend meetings.
