Overview
Maintenance Technician (Electrical) – Dayshift – Facilities at NHS Scotland. Two full-time, permanent posts of 37 hours per week with a shift pattern of Mon-Thu 08:00–16:00 and Fri 08:00–15:30. The role is based at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Operational Estates and involves reactive and planned preventative electrical maintenance across the hospital campus. The post requires cross-trade capability and training to support a broad range of building services duties.
Responsibilities
* Carry out electrical maintenance tasks as part of a multi-skilled technical team, with responsibilities that may include plumbing, HVAC and mechanical systems as required.
* Deliver high standards of service across building services, accepting cross-trade duties as required; all cross-discipline training will be provided.
* Support training and education of apprentices and adult trainees, ensuring they gain the necessary experience to meet their training program needs.
* Assist in delivering specialist technical services for a wide range of duties across disciplines.
* Complete required training to appoint as a Competent Person (Low Voltage) on successful appointment.
* Work within the Safety, Regulatory and NHS Scotland guidelines and policies; ensure compliance with H&S and electrical safety requirements.
Qualifications
* Time served electrician with an recognised electrical apprenticeship.
* IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
* Qualified to SVQ/HNC level (or currently working towards this qualification).
* Minimum of 5 years post-apprenticeship experience, ideally with experience in a healthcare environment.
* Current, valid ECS/SJIB card is desirable but not essential.
* Willingness to undertake and complete training required for appointment as a Competent Person (Low Voltage).
