Clinical Lead – Prison Mental Health Team – £3,000 Joining Bonus

The role is to provide mental health care to patients in HMP Humber within a stepped care model. Responsibilities include:
* Conducting comprehensive assessments and managing caseloads of referred patients.
* Communicating treatment options, initiating supportive care plans and delivering evidence‑based interventions.
* Co‑ordinating with internal and external partners such as healthcare providers, prison staff, social care and probation services.
* Maintaining planning, decision‑making and documentation aligned with health and risk assessments.
* Providing clinical supervision, mentoring students on practice placement and participating in quality improvement activities.
* Working as part of a multidisciplinary team and covering weekend service (approximately 1 in 4 weekends).
Working hours are 37.5 hrs per week, with potential part‑time or condensed hours considered.
Requirements:
* Registered mental health nurse, social worker or occupational therapist (RN MH, RN LD or equivalent).
* Full professional registration with NMC or relevant body.
* Minimum 18 months post‑qualifying experience and sign off of a preceptorship or competency framework.
* Evidence of continuing professional development and relevant clinical qualifications (CBT, DBT, PSI, dual diagnosis, etc.).
* Experience in a secure environment and familiarity with the Offender Health pathway.
* Leadership or management experience and ability to provide clinical supervision.
* Good communication skills, teamwork ethos, and ability to handle complex patient needs.
Additional qualifications:
* Clinical supervisor (within agreed timescales).
* Recognised sign‑off mentor.
* Non‑medical prescriber.
* Post‑graduate qualification in a relevant field.
