Brief Description This apprenticeship is the Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician standard programme with eStar Truck and Van in Stoke, ST6 4PB. The right candidate will work alongside Scania’s qualified Technicians to receive extensive training in maintaining HGVs. If you have an interest in the motor industry and want to work in a hands-on role where you can problem solve and make a real contribution as part of a team, this apprenticeship is the perfect place to start! • Work alongside a qualified Technician to learn how to carry out repairs according to Daimler procedures in a safe and responsible manner • Be trained on how to service, maintain and repair Daimler vehicles which have the latest technology • Learn the fundamentals of heavy vehicle technologies – heavy vehicle chassis, engine, fuels, transmissions, hydraulic and air braking, electrical systems, and testing • Be taught how to setup accessories and specific equipment on the vehicles • Ensure appropriate work logs are kept for all vehicles, and all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner • Keep high levels of morale and focus to ensure the highest possible levels of productive efficiency, quality of workmanship, and production finish in order to sustain growth in customer confidence in the service provided Qualifications Required • No previous automotive qualifications are required • GCSE 9 - 4 (A* - C) or Function Skills Level 2 in Maths and Enlglish • Predicted GCSE grades are acceptable - please note the apprenticeship offer is subject to final GCSE results Personal Qualities • An interest in the motor industry and motor mechanics • Interested in a hands-on role • Proactive attitude and enthusiasm for learning new skills • Punctual with good timekeeping • Motivation to succeed and work to a high standard Skills Required • A logical approach to problem solving • Good verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work methodically and follow instructions • Ability to work well both independently and in a team Future Prospects Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will achieve an automotive industry recognised qualification.
