The borough is undergoing a period of substantial change in its planning system.

As a Planning Policy Officer, you will contribute to providing an effective Planning Policy service. Your responsibilities will include preparing documentation for the Borough’s Local Plan, including policies and supplementary planning documents, monitoring existing policies, and evaluating land use changes across the Borough. You will collaborate with other teams, elected members, and external partners. Opportunities include shaping the Borough’s Design Code, policies, guidance, and implementing upcoming planning legislation such as the 2022 Levelling-up and Regeneration Bill.

The role offers an attractive employment package, including:

* A flexible working scheme allowing up to 16 flexi days annually.
* Hybrid working options supporting work-life balance.
* Access to the local government pension scheme.
* Payment of professional subscriptions.

The Council values diversity and encourages applications from all backgrounds. We are a Disability Confident Employer.
