This is a FIXED TERM contract with the position commencing ASAP.
Main duties of the job
This is a full-time post in Breast Surgery, based at the Princess Anne Hospital. The main clinical duties of the post will be:
* To be involved in the delivery of care in breast surgery, including care of urgent and emergency breast admissions during working hours.
* To further develop clinical (and research if desired) skills in breast and oncoplastic surgery while benefiting from a structured and supportive training framework designed to facilitate specialist registration through a systematic program aligned to GMC Portfolio Pathway guidance.

Job responsibilities
The post is subject to extension subject to portfolio pathway gateway reviews. The main clinical duties of the post will be to deliver care in breast surgery and develop clinical skills in breast and oncoplastic surgery.
Person Specification
Qualifications, Training & Experience
* FRCS or Equivalent
* Experienced to ST7/8 level or equivalent
* GMC registration with a licence to practise
* Specialist breast surgery qualification / European Board of Breast Surgery Exam or equivalent
* Recent experience in breast surgery
Aptitudes and skills
* An understanding of Portfolio Pathway guidance on progress and application as per published by GMC and JCST in Breast Surgery.
* Evidence and ability to work effectively in multi-professional teams
* Evidence of participation in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
Depending on experience, the salary will be £65,048 to £73,992 pa.
