We are recruiting a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic Psychological Therapist to join our Mental Health Team at HMP Woodhill. You will provide a wide range of therapies within an established MDT (including nursing, psychiatry, assistant psychologists, clinical psychologists, art therapy, occupational therapy and neurodiversity practitioners) and contribute to high quality group and individual therapies and trauma-informed pathways of care.

Job Description and Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include providing high intensity psychological therapies to complex cases, working with a wide range of professionals within the MDT and with prison staff, and developing trauma-informed care pathways. The role requires collaboration to meet the needs of a diverse population and to deliver high quality group and individual therapies.
Essential Qualifications
* Doctoral level training in clinical, counselling or forensic psychology or equivalent, accredited by the BPS; training in developmental lifespan psychology, psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology; experience with two or more psychological therapies; or a recognised postgraduate qualification in CBT (BABCP accreditation via core professions) or evidence-based therapy (e.g., CBT, EMDR) with appropriate accreditation.
* HCPC Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist or equivalent registration per professional standards.
* Evidence of accreditation or registration with an appropriate professional body as described above.
Desirable Qualifications
* Additional CPD qualifications, trauma-focused training, research methodology, staff training or other applied psychology areas; experience in more than one therapy modality.
Experience
* Experience delivering psychological therapy to individuals with personality disorder, self-harm, substance misuse and complex trauma; experience in multidisciplinary settings; experience in teaching/training; experience in specialist psychological assessment and treatment across outpatient, community, primary care and inpatient settings; experience with diverse client groups across the life course while maintaining professionalism in challenging environments.
* Desirable: experience in multicultural settings, secure environments (prison or secure hospital), peer-led initiatives, multi-therapeutic approaches, trauma-informed practice, and supervision of others.
Knowledge and Skills
* Broad knowledge of assessment, management and treatment for mentally disordered and personality disorder offenders; knowledge of specialised therapies for difficult-to-treat groups; ability to work intensively with complex cases; advanced assessment and intervention skills; strong communication skills; ability to provide training and consultancy; strong research methodology knowledge.
* Desirable: knowledge of two or more specialised therapies and relevant legislation.
Other Requirements
* Ability to teach and train using multi-media materials; clinical governance awareness; understanding of NHS service context; willingness to work flexibly; ability to work in a secure environment and obtain enhanced security clearance. Desirable: experience working within a multicultural framework.
