Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a SEND school in South Tyneside.
The school provides excellent support for pupils aged 2–19 and their families. Many of the young people have severe learning difficulties and complex or profound needs, so experience in a similar setting is essential.
The school prides itself on a positive, welcoming atmosphere, where pupils engage in learning at their own levels, supported by a dedicated multidisciplinary team. Students leave with the skills to access the adult world confidently and independently.
The normal working pattern is Monday–Friday, 8:30–16:30, and this is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:
* Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one
* Have experience working with SEND or vulnerable groups
* Assist pupils in lessons and activities
* Be flexible and resilient, meeting the diverse needs of students
* Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support
* Be confident in working alongside students, ensuring they are fully supported within their learning and general classroom activities
* Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities
