Circular Resourcing are pleased to be recruiting for a Senior Partnerships and Community Manager to join one of the UK’s leading renewable energy development companies.
Location: Cambridge area (hybrid office set up)

Responsibilities
* Reporting into the Sustainability and Community Director, you will be responsible for stakeholder engagement, public affairs and community activity across England as a brand, and be responsible for the projects in this market, ensuring that each has a marketing and engagement strategy to deliver results, from bringing new projects into the planning system and gaining consent, to their construction and operation.
* You will embed social, economic and environmental good practice into project design to meet and exceed the expectations of key stakeholders and the company’s sustainability strategy.
* You will develop a good knowledge of local communities and key stakeholders around each project and translate this into strategies which result in large renewable energy projects gaining consent.
* Devise, manage and deliver project communications and community engagement strategies in support of new developments, promoting benefits for the environment, local communities and the regional economy.
* Develop relationships through a stakeholder engagement strategy including MPs, councillors, parish councillors, local communities, local businesses, charities and voluntary organisations to encourage project support and keep communities informed about development proposals.
* Work with the Director of Sustainability & Community and other senior leaders to devise regional and national stakeholder engagement activity across England, positioning the company as a leading sustainable energy developer and influencing policy in commercial areas to support project consents.
* Collaborate with project teams to obtain community, business and political support to maximise the likelihood of planning success.
* Work with the marketing team to produce engaging marketing communications material (news releases, project brochures, web pages, social media posts) with images and videos to support each project.
* Prepare reports for planning applications detailing stakeholder consultation, views expressed and how those views were considered.
* Organise and attend community meetings, workshops, public exhibitions and other events to promote projects, explain benefits, record feedback and identify local economic, environmental and social benefits.
* Promote community funds and ensure tangible benefits are delivered in communities around developments.
* Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with organisations that support sustainability initiatives and improve chances of planning consent.
* Investigate and resolve community enquiries and feedback regarding energy projects.
Qualifications, knowledge and experience
Essential:
* Educated to degree level; experience in public affairs, sustainability, stakeholder engagement, marketing, customer relations or related areas.
* Experience building trusting relationships with diverse stakeholders, including customers, politicians, local community representatives, residents, council officers or statutory consultees.
* Experience in delivering results through influencing stakeholders, using marketing, policy advocacy or related approaches.
* Confident, credible and trustworthy.
* Resilience and the ability to stay positive and calm.
* Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
* Experience in strategic marketing and communications, including copy for websites and social media.
* Experience dealing with local communities and understanding planning and environmental/sustainability issues.
* Experience delivering senior stakeholder engagement, event management, corporate affairs, government affairs, policy advocacy and public affairs activity.
* Leadership experience managing people or consultants.
* Experience in renewable energy projects and the planning system.
