Overview
IT Cyber Security Analyst role with Somerset NHS Foundation Trust in the Digital Services team. Protecting the Trust's IT systems, data and infrastructure that support patient care across Somerset.
Responsibilities
* Monitor and maintain the Trust's cyber security systems.
* Respond to cyber alerts, incidents and NHS Digital CareCERT notifications.
* Assist with investigation and resolution of security issues across networks, servers and applications.
* Support security testing, patch management, and accreditation processes.
* Collaborate with colleagues across Digital Services, clinicians, and external partners to keep systems secure and resilient.
* Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
* Support digital transformation projects, ensuring security is embedded from design through delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
* Good general level of education with a minimum GCSE Maths and English 4 or above; a degree in a relevant field or demonstrated equivalent knowledge/experience.
* Experience of working with 3rd party suppliers to deliver high-quality service.
* Experience working with NHS professionals to implement information and operational systems.
* Experience managing priorities and participating in large projects; demonstrable evidence of working in a technical IT environment.
Desirable
* Cyber Security certification (CISSP, CEH, SCCP); Cyber Security training (CompTIA Security+); IT certification (Microsoft, etc); ITIL qualification.
* Experience in ITIL-based environment with emphasis on project management, change control, incident management, customer service and service delivery.
* IT Security experience within the NHS, public sector or major private sector organisation.
* Knowledge of NHS/Health environments and National IT Programmes; understanding of NHS IT Policies and Strategies.
Essential Additional Criteria
* Good knowledge in cyber security, securing and monitoring networks, systems and devices.
* Knowledge of data networking technologies and protocols.
* Good technical knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.).
* Knowledge of Active Directory/Azure/Entra Management.
