A highly supportive SEN school in Sunderland is seeking an Autism Specialist Teacher to join their expanding team from September.
The school is part of a respected specialist trust and supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition, communication needs and associated SEMH difficulties. The provision focuses heavily on therapeutic practice, sensory support and personalised learning pathways.
Main Responsibilities:
* Delivering structured and engaging lessons
* Supporting sensory and communication strategies
* Creating predictable routines and safe learning environments
* Encouraging emotional regulation and independence
* Supporting pupils with social interaction and confidence-building
* Collaborating with Speech and Language Therapists and SEN professionals
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status
* Experience supporting pupils with Autism and SEN
* Strong understanding of differentiated teaching strategies
* Calm, patient and nurturing approach
* Commitment to inclusive and child-centred education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
