Teacher
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Salary Scale: £125 - £160 per day
Start Date: September 2025
GSL Education’s North Yorkshire branch is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Teacher to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN). Successful candidate will work at Special Educational Needs School located in North Yorkshire starting in September 2025.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging lessons adapted for students with SEMH, ASC, and SLCN.
* Implement individual learning plans and differentiated strategies to support student progress.
* Foster a supportive classroom environment that promotes emotional well-being and positive behaviour.
* Collaborate with SENCOs, support staff, and external professionals to deliver holistic support.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to students, parents, and senior leadership.
Requirements:
* Have UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Experience working with secondary students with SEMH, ASC, and SLCN.
* Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and inclusive teaching practices.
* Excellent communication, patience, and empathy.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
* Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to complete one through GSL Education.
