The University of Liverpool, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, Institute of Infection, Veterinary and Ecological Sciences, Department of Small Animal Clinical Science invites applications for a Surgical Veterinary Nurse, Grade 5.
Salary: £29,588 - £33,951 per annum. 35 hours per week, plus 26 days holiday, pension and additional benefits.
This post is based at the Small Animal Teaching Hospital at the Leahurst Campus near Neston, Wirral. This is an exciting opportunity to join the theatre team in our busy state-of-the-art Hospital. You will be predominantly based in theatre, assisting our diverse referral caseload, for Soft Tissue Surgery, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Diagnostic Imaging, Oncology, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Dermatology. The nurse will be involved in a range of surgical techniques, and will be using the state-of-the-art equipment to ensure the best possible care to our patients.
You will be a qualified Veterinary Nurse with relevant experience in surgery. You must be flexible in shift patterns and you will be required to be on the nursing rota for weekends, Bank holidays and University closed days.

Responsibilities
* Assist in theatre activities and support a diverse referral caseload across multiple specialties (Soft Tissue Surgery, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Diagnostic Imaging, Oncology, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Dermatology).
* Work with state-of-the-art equipment to ensure high standards of patient care.
* Participate in a range of surgical techniques as part of the theatre team.
* Flexibility to cover shifts as part of the nursing rota for weekends, bank holidays, and University closed days.
Requirements
* Qualified Veterinary Nurse with relevant experience in surgery.
* Ability to work in a busy theatre environment and support a diverse caseload.
