They are a leading, purpose-driven group with a turnover of approximately £80 million. They are now seeking a Head of New Business to spearhead its tendering and business development function. This is a senior leadership role, central to shaping long-term success across multiple business units. You’ll lead the full lifecycle of new business acquisition – from market identification and bid qualification to tender submission and contract award – while managing a high-performing team and collaborating across departments. The role requires a strategic thinker with a commercial mindset, capable of working with senior stakeholders and clients to secure and grow valuable partnerships. Key Responsibilities: * Lead all aspects of the bid process, from PQQ through to ITT and post-award feedback * Oversee a team of bid professionals and estimators, ensuring timely, high-quality submissions * Identify new market opportunities and growth sectors including compliance (M&E), maintenance, and retrofit projects * Develop and maintain key strategic relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders * Manage framework agreements to maximise opportunities (e.g., NHMF, F21) * Maintain and enhance governance, reporting, and CRM tracking processes * Ensure commercial robustness, risk management and compliance in all bids * Continuously improve bid strategy through gap analysis, competitor insights, and team development * Ideal Candidate: * Proven track record of winning multi-million-pound public sector bids * Strategic, commercially astute, and confident working at board level * Strong leadership and people development skills * Desirable experience within social housing, local authority, or construction-related sectors * Excellent understanding of bid governance and tender processes This is a rare opportunity to lead new business strategy at a senior level and make a significant impact.
