Accounts Payable Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee and enhance our Accounts Payable function. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving efficiency improvements towards a paperless procurement-to-payment (P2P) workflow, ensuring timely invoice approval and consistent on-time payments. This role requires strong customer service and communication skills to maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Day to Day of the Role:
* Manage purchasing administration from point of order through to payment in line with agreed Service Levels, including expense, bursary, and credit card management.
* Maintain positive supplier engagement to secure favourable terms and keep suppliers informed about payments.
* Oversee the Accounts Payable team to ensure accurate and timely operation of the creditors control accounts, purchase ledger, and payment processes.
* Ensure correct coding for reliable accounting information and complete employee expense processing and auditing in line with internal policies.
* Address problems and issues promptly in line with service levels.
* Develop and maintain management reporting on key performance indicators to track performance improvements.
* Maintain high data quality for maximum effectiveness of end-to-end processing.
* Drive team efficiencies and effectiveness in processes, data, and systems to improve the P2P workflow.
* Lead a motivated team to deliver accurate and timely P2P information and results.
* Engage effectively with key stakeholders to develop strong, positive relationships.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in Accounts Payable leadership roles, managing high-volume transactions across complex structures.
* Knowledge of accounting and VAT principles for accurate VAT returns.
* Experience in driving improvements within an Accounts Payable function.
* Track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
* Proficiency in Oracle Fusion or similar complex financial systems, such as SAP.
* Strong ownership, accountability, and a positive, can-do attitude.
* Holistic performance assessment skills with the ability to identify key improvement areas.
* Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Effective time management and organisational abilities.
