Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Marketing Cloud Specialist on a 4-month contract to lead the implementation and configuration of our Marketing Cloud platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up data architecture, building automated customer journeys, and ensuring best-practice campaign execution.
This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong platform expertise, stakeholder collaboration, and the ability to deliver within defined timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end implementation of Marketing Cloud
Configure account settings, business units, user roles, and permissions
Set up data extensions, data models, and data integrations
Build and deploy automated customer journeys using Journey Builder
Create and optimize email templates and campaign assets alongside in-house designers
Implement segmentation strategies and audience targeting
Establish triggered communications and automation workflows
Conduct testing (QA, UAT) and ensure campaigns are production-ready
Implement tracking, reporting, and performance dashboards
Ensure compliance with data privacy and consent management requirements
Document system architecture, processes, and handover materials
Provide knowledge transfer and training to internal teams
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience implementing and configuring Salesforce Marketing Cloud
Strong hands-on experience with Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Email Studio
Experience setting up data extensions, SQL queries, and segmentation logic
Understanding of CRM integrations and data synchronization
Experience with API integrations and data imports
Strong knowledge of email marketing best practices and deliverability as well as in-app and push notifications
Strong testing, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and deliver within tight timelines
Preferred Qualifications
Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications (e.g., Email Specialist, Consultant, Developer)
Experience with Sales/Service Cloud integration
Knowledge of GDPR and data privacy regulations
Experience in [industry – optional]

By the end of the 4-month contract, the specialist will have:
Fully configured Marketing Cloud environment with clear roadmap of activity for the next 12 months
Live automated customer journeys deployed
Data integrations established and validated
Reporting framework in place
Documentation and internal team training completed
