Process Engineer Glasgow Hybrid working considered £36,000 - £44,800 per annumAbout the RoleCPI is seeking a Process Engineer 2 to join our technology team in Glasgow, supporting the delivery of regulated, safety-critical process engineering activities with a strong focus on chemical process safety.This is an end-to-end process engineering role, combining desktop-based design and risk assessment work with on-site support for commissioning, qualification, and operation. You will play a key role in ensuring that processes, equipment, and facilities are designed, installed, and operated in line with safety, quality, and regulatory expectations.The role is particularly focused on CPI's Glasgow site, supporting pilot-scale oligonucleotide manufacturing and the development of newer technologies as we progress towards GMP manufacture.Hybrid working is supported, with flexibility around on-site presence (typically a blend of site-based and off-site work).What You'll Be Responsible For:End-to-End Process EngineeringDeliver end-to-end process engineering support, from concept and design through to commissioning and operationSupport the development of safe, compliant processes aligned with regulated manufacturing expectationsApply sound process engineering principles to novel and pilot-scale technologiesProcess Safety & Hazard StudiesLead and participate in process hazard studies, including HAZOPs and safety risk assessmentsSupport site compliance with chemical process safety requirements, including flammable materialsContribute to safety documentation and risk mitigation strategies for new and existing processesEquipment Design, Commissioning & QualificationSupport the design, commissioning, and qualification of process equipmentDeliver documentation required for equipment qualification, validation, and regulatory readinessSupport the commissioning and qualification of cleanroom environments where requiredRegulated & GMP-Readiness ActivitiesSupport CPI's progression towards GMP manufacturing, applying appropriate quality and documentation standardsEnsure alignment with SHE, GMP/GxP, and Data Integrity expectationsProduce clear, compliant documentation, including reports, protocols, and technical recordsCollaboration & Site SupportWork closely with operations, quality, and engineering colleagues on siteAct as a technical point of contact for process engineering and safety-related topicsSupport investigations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activitiesAbout You:You are a process engineer with a strong safety mindset, comfortable working in regulated or regulation-ready environments.
