About the Role:
You'll work 1:1 or 2:1 delivering outdoor, creative, learner-centred sessions that promote responsibility, challenge, and a growth mindset. You'll be based at one of our community sites in Okehampton, Honiton, Ottery, or Newton Poppleford, with travel between sites and picking up learners from their homes. Your work will support learners academically, emotionally, and socially through hands-on activities in woodland and community settings.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver personalised support and interventions aligned with individual learner plans
* Foster positive relationships and promote wellbeing
* Maintain accurate records and communicate with staff, families, and professionals
* Work flexibly across multiple sites, including community and detached settings
* Support behaviour management and contribute to assessments and reviews
* Engage in ongoing training, supervision, and professional development
What You'll Need:
* Knowledge and understanding of autism and PDA profiles
* Creativity and adaptability in engaging learners and supporting their needs
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Resilience to work outdoors in all weather conditions
* Commitment to safeguarding and safe practice
* 5 GCSEs (A–C) or equivalent
* Willingness to undertake relevant training and DBS checks
Desirable:
* Experience working with learners with SEMH and ASD/PDA
* Familiarity with behaviour intervention strategies
* Background in outdoor education or Forest School settings
* Relevant qualifications such as Forest School Leader or Paediatric First Aid
