Salary: £90–£110 per day
Working Hours: 8:20am–3:15pm, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Full-time, initially until July 2026, with a view to extending
Do you have strong subject knowledge in Maths, English, or Science and want to help pupils reach their academic potential?
A dynamic secondary school in central Manchester is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Academic Coach to deliver focused intervention across Key Stages 3 and 4. You’ll work directly with students who need additional academic support—either due to lost learning time, gaps in understanding, or to stretch high-attaining pupils.
This is a great role for recent graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced educators looking to make a direct impact on pupil progress.
Role Highlights:
* Deliver targeted intervention sessions in your specialist subject (Maths, English, or Science).
* Support pupils in small groups or 1:1 sessions to improve understanding, confidence, and outcomes.
* Assist in the design and adaptation of materials to suit student needs.
* Track progress using school systems and feed into departmental planning.
* Provide classroom support where necessary and lead catch-up sessions for key exam-year pupils.
Essential Criteria:
* A degree in a relevant subject or strong A-level qualifications with tutoring/mentoring experience.
* A passion for education and helping young people to succeed.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong classroom presence and professional conduct.
* Experience in a school or tuition setting is desirable but not essential.
This role would suit someone aiming to train as a teacher in the future and provides excellent school-based experience. Full training and induction are provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
