The Podiatry team at Walsall has won the Quality Service Improvement of the Year award this year. Additionally, one of our team members has been recognized as Allied Health Professional of the Year for Walsall Healthcare Trust and AHP of the Year for the Black Country.
This role is for a passionate podiatrist eager to utilize all their podiatry skills.
The role involves treating high-risk patients across the Borough of Walsall. Opportunities to work across all aspects of podiatry are encouraged.
* To have responsibility and be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of clinical work undertaken.
* Responsible for providing a clinically effective service, ideally based on evidence-based practice.
* Work as an autonomous practitioner, assessing, diagnosing, treating, and planning care for patients with routine and complex lower limb pathologies.
* Use investigative and analytical skills to determine the most appropriate care pathway, liaising with colleagues, the Musculoskeletal Team, GPs, and other primary healthcare team members.
* Recognize and identify patients requiring further investigation using problem-solving skills.
* Demonstrate highly developed dexterity for assessment and treatment.
* Provide and manufacture a range of specialist dressings and orthotics to support various therapies.
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300. It offers inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital, including state-of-the-art facilities like a Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, and an Emergency Care Centre opened in March 2023.
The main responsibilities include supporting the training of Band 5 staff and students from nearby universities, as well as delivering high-quality patient care. We actively promote career and public health events to reduce inequalities.
