The opportunity: We are looking for a Paralegal to join our highly-regarded Intellectual Property team at Baker McKenzie, Belfast. The successful applicant will support the Firm's IP practice with high volumes of IP prosecution, maintenance, and transactional work in a deadline-driven environment. You will work on rapidly developing IP portfolios of global clients, requiring a global mindset and the ability to coordinate effectively with diverse teams worldwide. The role involves working with various professionals across cultures and driving matters forward with local counsel or clients. You will provide key support to senior professionals, ensuring reliable and high-quality work.

Main responsibilities:
* Support the global IP practice on various matters including trademark formalities: registration, prosecution, maintenance, renewal, and post-registration steps.
* Prepare client reporting emails independently.
* Support global IP M&A activities, including recording assignments, licenses, and changes at local registries.
* Draft legal documents, liaise with local counsel, produce schedules, and coordinate document execution.
* Conduct IP asset due diligence using official registries and commercial databases.
* Assist with anti-counterfeiting programs, including drafting guides, seizure notifications, and liaising with infringers.
* Perform trademark scans and draft high-quality search reports.
* Develop legal knowledge to support lawyers and clients effectively.
* Follow established procedures, meet service standards, and manage workload efficiently.
* Assist with docketing, deadline management, and other trademark-related tasks.
Essential criteria:
* Relevant undergraduate degree with 2.1 or above preferred.
* Legal background with trademark/IP experience preferred.
* Authorization to work in the UK.
Desirable criteria:
* CITMA qualification is advantageous.
