The Sr Principal Chemical Engineer will perform engineering work related to chemical plant operations, with a focus on propulsion, energetics, solid propellants, and related materials. The role requires extensive knowledge of physics-based modeling, polymer mechanics, environmental degradation, combustion, detonation, and rheology. Preferred candidates will have experience in:
* Propellant/explosive formulation and manufacturing
* Energetic material synthesis and hazards analysis
* Case bondline development and adhesion science
* Physical testing of propellants and subsystems
Major Responsibilities
* Research and develop new products or optimize existing ones through chemical reactions and material property studies.
* Design experiments, develop prototypes, and support manufacturing processes.
* Analyze testing data and present findings to estimate costs, standards, and solutions.
* Maintain safety procedures for chemical handling and comply with environmental regulations.
Qualifications
* Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred in Chemical Engineering or related field.
* 10-12 years of relevant experience.
* Proficiency in chemical engineering, manufacturing processes, product development, and scientific testing.
* Strong communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
* Proficient in MS Office Suite.
